Transformational Infrared Detectors for Medical and Environmental Sensing

The program will design, grow, process and package a set of state-of-the-art infrared detectors based on an enhanced resonant cavity design.

These detectors are technologically disruptive, using III-V semiconductor materials and an integrated optical cavity to achieve ultra-high performance qualities such as: an extremely narrow linewidth, low background noise and having a signal-to-noise ratio that is 10x greater than that of conventional broadband detectors.

The prototype detectors will be designed around  environmental monitoring and medical breath analysis  applications.
